Time saved

How much time does it save?

At 900 words a day of tickets, notes and updates, typing at 40 words a minute and speaking at 150, dictation saves about 17 minutes a day, or about 66 hours a year. Those numbers are assumptions. Change them below.

Saved a week1.4 h
Saved a year66 h
Worth a year$1,700
Work days to earn back $498

Saved time = words ÷ typing speed − words ÷ speaking speed. We count 5 working days a week and 48 weeks a year, and round to two figures. The defaults are assumptions, not measurements: put in your own. Time spent thinking about what to write stays the same either way.

FAQ

Questions

Does Utter record or transcribe meetings?

No. Utter listens only while you hold its key, or after you double-press it for hands-free. Use it to dictate your own notes once the meeting ends.

Does it work in Linear, Notion and Jira?

Utter types wherever your cursor is, in desktop apps and in the browser.

Is it safe for confidential roadmap notes?

Speech recognition and cleanup run on your computer, so what you say stays there. Text goes to a provider only if you give a style your own API key.
